Despacito Gone, Despacito Back!

Ever since its release in January 2017, not a single party would go without playing Despacito. It reached as far as 5 billion views and was learned by heart by many.

This afternoon, the news of the hacking of the song went viral on social media. The song was deleted for a while, but long enough for Fonsi’s fans to notice it.  A picture of the “La Casa de Papel” characters, with their masks on pointing their guns to the viewer, was put instead.

The professor’s gang didn’t stay there long; the song gained back its place soon. It turns out that the hack targeted only a few VEVO accounts. Despacito’s come back was only on Youtube and not immediately on VEVO. The come and go of the song and of the Casa de Papel stirred many reactions on internet.

Reactions from twitter users went from freaking out, embracing the hack, to being sarcastic about it:
